Julianne Nash
Stephanie Garon
Clint Sleeper
Paloma Bakchellian
Allie Tova Hirsch
Mahari Chabwera

Julianne Nash is a New York City based artist whose current work utilizes algorithmic digital collage techniques to create densely layered landscapes that seek to understand our ineffable climate crisis on a micro scale. While at Tiny Birch, she will work on her series “The Exiles” and “Ennuipocalypse”.

Stephanie Garon in collaboration with Clint Sleeper are looking to create one piece of land art and one sculpture that use steel armatures. Garon’s environmental art has been exhibited internationally in London, Colombia, and South Korea, as well as across the United States. Sleeper makes work about the humorous and tragic end of an economic and political system.

Paloma Bakchellian graduated from the Regina Pacis art school in 2016 and has participated in various group shows since 2011. At Tiny Birch she will study and research new forms, noises and color, and may create some large canvases.

Allie Tova Hirsch is a non-binary Jewish writer and the recipient of residencies from the Corporation of Yaddo, Monson Arts, Grin City Collective, as well as fellowships from the New York State Writers Institute and the Juniper Institute. During their Tiny Birch residency, Hirsch will continue to work on their novel-in-progress.

Mahari Chabwera is an artist and curator living and working between Newport News and Richmond. In 2017, she began cultivating communion rooted in radical black well-being and self-determination. At Tiny Birch she anticipates working on the fifth of a series of seven tapestry paintings on interpretations of archetypal energy.
